E-Safety

As a school, we play a key role in promoting online safety to our children, parents and staff members. A whole school approach to e-safety can help involve staff, governors, parents and even the pupils themselves in keeping children and young people safe online.

We currently expose children to a rich Computing and PSHE curriculum that includes teaching the risks of online safety and strategies to keep themselves safe when exploring online. Stand-alone assemblies and helpful posters are also in place to help tackle further issues and promote a safer experience.

We now have 'Digital Leaders' in school who are able to help their peers with any issues or concerns. These problems will then be raised in fortnightly meetings and together the team will work out a solution. We are currently planning another E-Safety week at Ankermoor after the success of last years. With this in mind, a whole week will be used to focus on E-safety. Mr Macdonald and the digital leaders have a plenty of ideas in mind, watch this space.
